September Member’s Meeting at Colonial Williamsburg’s Campbell Archeology Center

Join us on September 17th for this highly anticipated, conservation focused tour of the Campbell Archaeology Center, which opened to the public in April 2026. Colonial Williamsburg is the birthplace of historical archaeology - a field that uses material culture to understand the development of the modern world - and decades of excavation here have produced one of the nation’s largest collections of 17th to early 19th century artifacts.

Kate McEnroe, Conservator of Archaeological Materials, will lead our tour of the new 40,000 SF facility, featuring expanded exhibition spaces, environmentally controlled storage areas, state of the art conservation laboratories and a public archaeology teaching lab where visitors and community members can physically engage with artifacts.
